============================================================
Nearly every Grateful Dead Dark Star jam from 1972 mixed into a singular 10 hour listening experience.
When I put this together, I was under the impression that I had every Dark Star performed in 72, but as you'll see below in the comments, I was missing a few. I'll try to acquire the missing recordings and re-do this so it is a complete recording of every 1972 Dark Star. My apologies for the error.
UPDATE: people are asking for a guide or track listing for the mix. I still have the project file and will try to find time to write it up.
NOTE: please see the comments below - a listener has actually worked out not only the order... but also the timestamps for each cross fade. Congrats to you FelaFan you certainly know this music!
The jams are indeed intact - meaning, I didn't apply any arrangement. My process was this: * drop all Dark Star recordings into software * locate all vocal sections and cut them out - except the last * taking all jam parts and mixing them together - in some cases I had to cut out a min or two so I could locate a section that would mix well. All mixed parts are just cross fades, maybe a bit of EQ cutting within some of the fades. The goal was to mix them in chronological order, and I thought I had... but when I checked the mix in my software... I see that the files had some variations in naming, and that some of the dates are out of order. People have asked if I'll do another one - I may, but time is limited and being able to collect a full year of a song is not an easy task. I was very fortunate to have found the 1972 collection that someone else had spent time organizing. So - if any of you can provide a different year's worth of Dark Star - probably pre 76 so there are enough... and I'll see what I can do!

This is beautiful. It's obviously a labor of love, but we all benefit from it, so . . . thanks.

This is fantastic. I came across this today and was very happy to have found this. I have been wanting to do this for quite sometime, but haven't because I know what a commitment it is and how long it takes, so thank you, this is very special to me.
I have the missing Dark Star's and would love to add them in, if that is fine to do. I also have every Dark Star that is available, at least to my searching, and from 12.31.78 and earlier. I do have a couple from the 80's, but I digress, especially after 1984, I just don't listen. For me 72-74 is where my ears and heart love, and I believe I have all of them that are available. I will start doing a 1973 and see what it takes to do.
Again, thank you.

Yes, a very unusual project. Before I listen, I would like to know, is there any second verse here (23 March, 4 May or 26 July)? I support the idea of doing Dark Stars of other years, same to That's It For The Other One (in case of doing the full suite montage) and maybe Turn On Your Lovelight and Playing In The Band.
